Founded in 2019, Vitraya emerged with a profound vision: to bring trust and transparency to the healthcare sector. The need for such a transformation became starkly evident during the pandemic when we witnessed firsthand the struggles of individuals unable to claim the bodies of their loved ones due to delayed insurance claim processing. These heartbreaking scenarios fueled our determination to revolutionize the insurance claims process, ensuring that patients and their families no longer endure such unnecessary hardships.

At Vitraya, our mission is to streamline and simplify the complex processes within the healthcare industry, starting with insurance claims. We believe that by removing friction and enhancing efficiency in this critical area, we can profoundly impact the lives of millions. Our goal is to completely transform the Indian healthcare ecosystem by 2030, making it more responsive, trustworthy, and patient-centric.

Over the years, we have developed and released several industry standards to drive this transformation. One of our key contributions is the Policy Markup Language (PML), an open-source standard we created for writing digital policies that can be utilized in real-time. This innovation has set a new benchmark in the industry, facilitating smoother and more transparent policy management.

Additionally, we are proud to have designed the architecture of the Health Claim Exchange, a revolutionary concept that will impact how India’s healthcare system operates. This robust system has significantly improved the efficiency and reliability of health claim processing on a national scale.
